Bender fancybox issue..

i figured the problem of adds, and it was due to a spam extension installed in my chrome with he name (Media Player 1.1) But the fancy box issue with Internet explorer is still there.,.

in compatibility mode the fancybox is working, but the main page layout is messed up. see attached image.

I just tried, FF, Chrome, safari on mac everything working and looks good

my IE pc browser is old too so I can't really test the fancybox on it hopefully it does work in the newer IE 10 or 11

Like last comment, IE is bullshit, everyone knows it, but nothing gets done, and yeah I know there are still a massive amount of people still using it, because most businesses have it built in on their computers and dont let anyone download a decent browser!

We /I need to step forward and post a large text statement at the top of our sites saying:
If your dumb enough to use IE - Your not smart enough to know this site displays better in a REAL Browser....

Of that I'm not so sure. Check several strong sites offering browser stats and you'll be surprised of the discrepancies, and I suspect in some of them there are commercial interests tampering with real stats.

This well known site estimates 10% of users browsing with IE. Detractors claim that people visiting that site are mostly tech-savvy and that explains it. But I may access stats for two real rather busy servers where I can assure you the users are just normal people. The screenshots are just taken, today's unique visitors.

I gave up on IE long time ago, for me the long time you need to adapt your sites to it doesn't pay at all.

Here you see that desktop/laptop is mostly using IE

Now with more and more tablets and smartphones browsing the web you notice that other browsers, marketed like MS once did and was fined for, are growing.

Overall I wouldn't be surprised that 'other' browsers are more & more encountered and will 'rule' the stats though on desktops and laptops it is still for the bigger part IE. 

So in my opinion we will get more browser issues with people using more and different devices each with their own 'default' surf tool. With in mind the fact that browsers still not use ONE standard.....

Now, looking at osClass and how people are using online market places like ebay etc. they most likely use a laptop or desktop meaning it is smart to make sure that your website not only looks nice and working on the iPhone, iPad, Tablet or other smartphone. Why? Because imo the majority of people posting ads still use their desktop/laptop. They can sit down, take some time to think, edit, think, edit their ad text, look up some pictures or make some with their webcam or whatever. Drink their coffee, show it to their wife/hubby etc.... 

Though I would like to promote the development of an App for use on other devices like smartphone/tablet because people just 'browsing' for a quick cheap deal most likely use more & more their mobile devices as well as younger people are used to mobile devices and so better create an app that nicely integrates with the regular browser version and offer a speedy / easy way for the young and the furious who want to post an ad in a few clicks using their Phone/tablet.

In short, look at what people are doing on your site, when, why and how..... do not just look at stats from sites that maybe only offer information like a Wikipedia.

I think this posts and the five before need to be moved to a new post of Internet Explorer rage, instead we're all giving our 2 pennies worth for that and not considering the original bender fancybox issue. (although, from memory, has this been sorted??)

I had a peek at the website using IE11 and it looks ok to me, if I am missing something fancy I did not notice.
The sort list/toggle works great.

Also I don't think a user using IE is aware of something missing the way it looks and works at this moment unless they are on an antique browser ofcourse still on XP.  Better take into account that there are several browsers in several versions out there..... I bet there are older FF/Chrome versions that have other issues we're not discussing here. 

So what browser "set" is current OsClass actually targeted for?

As this topic converted to IE then again i must say that i have updated to IE 11, and still fancybox is not working at all.. .. and also a little suggestion if i can replace the header bg color with some image header in bender theme then it will be great too

Well themes Always keep you busy

With OsClass as with many other Open Source projects people using the software have a couple of options:
- they have some technical knowledge and manage themselves with help in forums
- they pay others for customising
- they stay with what comes out of the box and wait for updates/upgrades

i must say that i have updated to IE 11, and still fancybox is not working at all

ruk_design, can you tell me what you would expect on what page regarding fancybox? I would like to know if we experience different behaviour with same browser.

As for a header change, everything can be changed by the use of CSS and/or code. I did a quick Google on the same and I think the following link might have all info you need to start changing things in Bender theme:

However, I know there already is a LOT of tips in the forums here so it could well be that there is a better/easier answer available.
