So my site has been live for a little over 2 months now and I have been receiving very little organic traffic. I have been averaging around 50 to 100 visits a day (slow and steadily rising) and around 10 to 20% of it is organic traffic. The site has close to 300 registered users so far but I doubt they will stay around long if barely anyone is responding to their ads.

The site's Facebook page has around 1800 + likes. I doubt I'll keep this up for long if I don't start seeing some better results soon. I can't keep contacting every user to check out my site forever (20% to 30% success ratio). This is basically my only method to attract new users that I have been able to find so far. I need some scalability and critical mass.

Its so hard to advertise a site when you don't have $$$$. Basically try and tell  onlineand your considered a spammer then next thing you know your ip address is blacklisted. Anyways this is my Osclass experiment so far, tons of work with not much return. Anyone have any advice?

End of rant

Okay
1 your lucky to have so many page likes after 2 months : mines been running for 1.6 years and only got 1100 likes.
2 your lucky to have 50 to 100 visits a day : ive spent about 1k in advertisements, using google ads, facebook ads, twitter ads and still only getting 30 - 40 page visits a day
3 300 registered users in 2 months : good work, 1.6 years later and Im still only got 200.
Moral of the story, sounds like your winning, so keep at it.
Ps People are so afraid of FREE ads, they always think there is a catch.

I know aide's reply wasn't the one you expected. Heres the (harsh truth). There are only few ways to gain online success.
1. you create something new and get free publicty with your country's media
2. Try for free publicty night and day. begging for links.
3. Pay for publicty and get more money in return.

Is there any other ways? If so explain. We all want to know. (the question is general to all members of this forum)

It's not easy and it's not quick. When you make a website which involves user activity, it may take a year or two to see results you want to see. To get something back for your investment. In the mean time, don't give up.  And play it fair, don't spam around and buy likes or something, because you'll be punished.

In my case, I put up vehicle classifieds site, which obviously isn't something new. But that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Always keep an eye on the competition.
So how did I get people to my site? Well, I went to competition sites and kindly write to those who had ads there if they want to add them also to my site for free.
Think what users want. They want to sell their item and spend little money to achieve that. So, free is the best option. Also no one will pay you to be seen by 10 users daily.

But I didn't stop there. I went to car dealers websites who sell used cars and write them too, I presented my site and offered them free ads even for companies.
Also I write to car magazines, who will not post ads, but mostly have large database of fans on social networks, so I offered them banner on my website in exchange for sharing my site on their facebook page. I also add one more banner offer, valid in next let's say 36 months (when site will have more visits and ads), because if you have 10 ads and 50 visits now, they won't care if you put their banner on or not. You'll not be successful with everyone, but if one of them shares your site, that's already good and also free promotion :)

Improving your SEO is also vital, Osclass is still not quite good in that, but you can get websites to exchange links, so your site will have a better ranking in organic searches.

As for money, how will you earn anything if you have free ads? Well, it's simple. Free ads=more ads. So an user who would post for example Toyota where there are 100 same cars already, would like to have his ad more visible than others. There you have one way to earn money - Featured ads. Top of the category for x$ per week or something. Another one is Adsense banners and the last one is selling banner space to companies. When 5000 people search on your site for a car, you'll surely find many companies who sell car parts, oils and other stuff, who would love to place a banner there. Bingo.

Well, that's my strategy, I can't say you'll make it, but just don't give up. After all, nothing from above does not cost you money, only time, so you've got nothing to lose and it's worth to keep it going.  ;)

im in an untapped niche. very hard to even old school market to these people - even with snail mailout postcards.
but as with any true business, even brick and mortar, it takes some time to get out of the red.
did you expect to be over night success? don't we all  ;)

Jake you are doing good. My boss is not only paying me, but over $700 a DAY on adwords! but we never started with any followers, and still aren't doing as well as you.
