Hi,
Below link is to hide the contact form and shown it only on click .

So my question os that ..can it be done for comments section also??

Open your item.php, find <div id="comments"> and change it to <div id="comments" style="display: none">.
Add this piece of code where you want the button to appear.
<button onclick="$('#comments').toggle();">Toggle comments</button>

I removed it ..as comment box disappeared after putting the codes

I had made changes in div and then added the code which you gave on the very first line ..but unfortunately whole section got disappeared

Yes, the comment section disappears. Then you need to add that button outside of it. When the button is clicked it will again show.
