How do you upgrade your Osclass Script to the latest???

Do I have to backup my current Osclass script and then download and upload the latest script??? Or can I create a temporary folder in my server for the latest Osclass script until I get it updated and running and then move the latest script into root folder??

  I went through the link you provided and it doesn't look like upgrading Osclass script going to be fun. What this means is that your site could be down for sometime before you get it up and running with all the MODIFICATION you've done on your script. I have modified OSCLASS script with many changes. If I just do automatic or manual, my modifications will be GONE either way.   

I wish Osclass Script had a temporary installation process where you can create a separate folder in your server away from the live Osclass script and do all the changes... then once you are ready you can update the live Osclass script. This way there won't be any down time and your website looks like feels just like before but now with upgraded script.
