[SOLVED] Check Allow my site to appear in search engines like Google

Hi All, during installation there's an option that say:

Check Allow my site to appear in search engines like Google.

q1. What does it actually do, can I uncheck first, installed, configure the site, and upon my site is ready, and how to re-enable back later?

q2. The option does it modify robot, or do anything to inform google search engine? anyone knows?

Please advice on 2x questions above. Thank you.

Yes you can.
 Also after installation there will be 2 plugins tobe installed. One is Google maps. The other is Google analytics.
 
I do have to wonder why you would not want this checked but none of my concern.

Have another suggestion though you didn't ask. You may be interested in 3 plugins available that help with Google ranking.
1. Meta Edit
2. Sitemap generator
3. tag Cloud
I've attached all three.
 
I don't know to much about them except they do work. Use all three together.

I likely well catch hell for saying this but I am very dissatisfied with my ranking for Osclass sripts. My Oscommerce scripts rank very well BUT in defence of Osclass. The developers are well aware of this and are doing everything possible to make it better. I am sticking with them.
 
I use all those plugins plus a few tricks of my own.
 
Now I'll set back and watch all those that think they know hammer me.....

I agree that i can have my .co.uk site rank higher and quicker using wordpress but to be honest I too love this script and I know that it can only get better. I just wish I knew more about programming so I could help more but I will share anything that I learn.

I think that this will get much better as more people begin to use this script.

Im still trying to get advice about intergrating the pm plugin to send notifications to facebook user but no one really replied

becos I install the site and doing testing, customisation hence before site is up and ready I want robots.txt to block indexing hence not choosing the option for time being.

Thanks alot for the seo plugin, it definitely helps and hopefully 3.2 will see more enhancement in seo aspect.
