Title: MariaDB 10.2.8 upgrade
Post by: SmaRTeY on September 19, 2017, 12:04:50 pm
Hi,

just a heads-up / notice for those running MariaDB instead of MySQL and who are in control of their own server softwares.
I just did an upgrade of my MariaDB 10.1.x to 10.2.8 (latest which came out yesterday 8)) and the upgrade was a breeze!
So far all DB's are migrated OK and the whole system seems to be running fine again.

IF you chose to upgrade, follow their upgrade steps (https://mariadb.com/kb/en/library/upgrading-from-mariadb-101-to-mariadb-102/) and you should be ok.

Just don't forget to re-install the dependencies that were removed when removing 10.1.x version and replace the new my.cnf after upgrade with your 'old' one so you get all settings back you might have added/used in 10.1.x

Regards,
Eric

Well after three weeks running it seems there's something not 100% (https://jira.mariadb.org/browse/MDEV-13670) since I was getting Page_cleaner errors in my logfile that kept on coming so I decided to go back to 10.1.28 which seems to also work okay without all the noise in my logfile.

Cheers!
Eric
