Problems with 2.4....
« on: May 05, 2012, 02:41:01 am »
Thought i might as well include them all in one topic..

1)

Upgrading your OSClass installation (this could take a while):

Fatal error: Call to a member function result() on a non-object in /home/content/86/8957986/html/oc-includes/osclass/upgrade-funcs.php on line 318

This is a major problem.. in that i cannot do anything in the admin now lol, everything leads back to upgrading osclass, but then i am met with this error..

2) the URL problem has returned (with vengeance!)

When someone, or anyone, inserts a URL using the rich text editor it is replaced with www.example.com/%5C

I had this problem previously, but thankfully someone kindly posted an updated version of their params.php which solved the problem.... this version does not solve it this time, i have tried replacing with my working params.php & with the new one but no joy :(

I will add any other problems i find to this post, Thank you

Hi cas87,

I was able to reproduce this error. I am still working on a workaround for this issue. I will report back if I find a workaround for this issue.

Hi again,

I found a work around for this issue. First thing you will have to do is downgrade your site back to 2.3.7 you will have to manually ftp the 2.3.7 files to your server and then run the upgrade url yoursite.com/oc-includes/osclass/upgrade-funcs.php Once your site has been downgraded to 2.3.7 Go to general settings > general settings and check to make sure that the "Default language" is set to English. Once you checked that you can then go to tools > upgrade osclass and click upgrade and then you should be able to upgrade your site to 2.4.

Hi Tony,

That seems like quite a long time. Maybe check your error log to see if it is giving you an error.

Do you have a backup of your database?

If you do I think the easiest maybe to just reinstall osclass.

Thanks Jay, Problem Solved..

However mine was originally in english, but i followed the steps of downgrading to the previous version, then upgrading again and it worked :)

one problem still is in chrome the admin is very 'messy' not at all like it should look, it works fine in IE though :)

Also i still have the problem of URL's but i can live without that for now, thanks again

Hi cas87,

I am glad it worked for you.

In Chrome when you view the admin page try doing a ctrl + f5 and see if it helps to get a new cached version of the style.css.
