Manual update - Missing files on version 3.1.1.

Hi,
I have downloaded version 3.1.1 to update my files using manual update method.
It appears that most of the files in the root directory (ajax.php, contact.php, index.php, item.php and so on) are missing.
Any one can help?

It have been moved to others folders ... download fresh 3.1.1 and  see where

It explains most likely a huge part of my (and others) ..update.. difficulties - Urghhh...
BUT But but:
One can spend hours, - upon hours, - searching for relevant information like this in forum,
(Unfortunately, without seeing such an important ,thing, - as you informs us about here)
