Title: Modern Theme and Osclass 3.3 New drap and drop uploading feature
Post by: Aficionado on December 10, 2013, 07:38:57 pm
Now that 3.3 is available, we should modify the Modern there to support the new uploading features (drag & drop).

Not sure what it takes, we could to sponsor it if needed .. or whatever ....

 ;D

** EDIT: the modification is done and the four changed files of the theme are attached here **
** The Full theme is available at Github                                                                                    **

You just need to backup your theme that contains your changes, then replace all other files excluding the following files "config.php" and folder "Uploads" For your images.

I was talking about the system files (osclass version), not the theme files. I believe that some internal files may contain new updates that do not work in version 3.1.2. But i not yet check this situation. I just wanted to say if I would just update something in the content that relates to the method (drag and drop), just that and nothing any other update.

If somebody found where are this new functions and code for "drag and drop", please post.

Thanks

I will add it in my hacked minimalist but not modern.
The commit posted by Dev101 is easy to implement, if you updated osClass to the latest version the only thing you need to do is look at the bender/theme changes and implement these in modern or any other theme. 8)

Any suggestions as t0 why I get "Upload failed, reason unknown" when I try this solution?

Even similar plugin I found is giving the same error.

P.S. Using the Modern theme and the lastest version of Osclass.

I have the files via my provider. They supply them via Installatron.
The Osclass version I use is 3.3.2

Already made a lot of customizations.

I found a clean version on my HD and uploaded that to a subdomain. Looks like 1 of my customizations is the cause because here it seems to work.

So now it is a matter of comparing files. Would it be item-post, item-edit and functions I need to compare or are others affected too by this new functionality?

Get the modern theme from GITHUB, as instructed in the 1st post of this thread.

Result update:

It proved that there was some hick-up with my Osclass installation. All worked fine except the image upload.
I tried to create a new database to see if it was database related but it was not.

Finally I took the following steps:
Create a new database
Installed Osclass via my provider on a new subdomain with the new database.
Uploaded the database content of the old database in the new one
Delete directories oc-admin, oc-include, oc-content
Uploaded directories oc-admin, oc-include, oc-content from my saved domain.

This made it all work.

Thanks for your help!

Yes, he's been gone for a while. I couldn't reach him either. As far as I know he totally stopped developing Osclass. I used to run some of his projects.
Anyway, I was about to send you his contact email by PM but I just realized that no PM option anymore??
I don't usually use this forum since my threads have been removed.

Things are certainly different, I knew that no contact is allowed between members ??? and I know a few that have just abandoned osclass for some of those same reasons, among others  :-\ :-[
if your looking to do some plugin testing, look in the jobs section  ;)

PS: dont be surprised if your sig is removed or at least the link......
PSS: so who really owns bootsnap?

Yep, I realized those changes. What can I say. That's true, I had more customers before these sanctions have been applied at Osclass forums.
I may have less sales - which isn't so bad, less customers to take care of and more time to do other things - , but I won't be forced to sell in the market in those conditions.

I found your email, I'm sending you Max's email address.

I am/We are the owner of Bootsnap template at BestClassifieds. After Max has gone years ago, I took the ownership from him, redesigned it and now it is on sale. It's ours.

yes would be nice if we could chat and the word you used "sanctions  ". I know someone who  said it was these 'sanctions' that made them decide to abandon this script,
another stated they felt that it was infringing on the true open source spirit. One of these was even talking about starting a "unofficial "osclass forum and then make an invitation to all she knew and to try to post a few posts in a few of the forum topics to get members to join, but I think she was more frustrated than serious ..... ::)
