I did ask the devs via the plugin page, but got no reply. Hopefully I'll fare better here.

Does this plugin work with direct payments via Paypal, or is it credits only?

You can do both

So direct payments or credits

I really cant see ANY point in a credits system TBH. Credits is a step back into the dark ages.
