Payment plugin help needed

Hi
Could you please tell me how does the payment plugin work?
I am trying to play around with it but in vain.
configuration:
->Entered the reqd API details of paypal.
->IPN url set.
->enabled payment for premium ads .
I have tested using
1. with the sandbox paypal system. It shows me that the payment has been done. However, the ad is "not" marked as premium and the tables in the database is empty. No entries are reflected in the database.
2. Sandbox disabled. tested with a personal paypal account. It shows the payment is successful and the amount has been paid to the primary email and a confirmation mail has been sent to my personal account but I did not receive any confirmation mail also the ad is not marked as premium.

I am stuck on this for a long time. I need help.

what theme are you using? I'll assume 3.22 osclass version. do you have another plugins installed? have you modified the core in anyway? when you installed the plugin, did it create the tables in the db?

Yes the osclass version is 3.3.2.
There are other plugins installed as wel like the custom attributes, car attributes, etc.
When i installed the payment plugin, the tables in the database are created.
I havn't modified anything in the plugin except changing the CRYPT_KEY as per the configuration instructions.
