I have the same problem... on Facebook, it pulls the image of another ad. In my case I don't know if it is a random ad, or the picture of the previous ad.

I think I have pinpointed out the problem to the cars plugin... anyone else is experiencing this glitch with car ads and car plugin enabled?

I just created a new add and just copy/pasted the link in Facebook and it's still displaying the incorrect picture. When I click on edit post it displays a popup window with the correct picture of the ad, however it doesn't matter as once you finish editing the post (or not) it still displays the incorrect picture. Perhaps the Thumbnail? (Pictures attached)

I tried the same thing with other categories (no car plugin) and they were all posted with the correct picture with no problems. The information is actually pulled in a different format, where the picture looks better and neater. (Picture attached)

I will start a thread on the Cars Plugin section, but any one knows who can help or where to escalate this issue?

This sounds like another thread I just read :)
Do you mean that you get a "random" picture from another ad or similar?
This plugin might help you with this: http://market.osclass.org/plugins/social-networks/open-graph_174

wow..2.00...what kind of a creep would charge 2 bucks.

so it also says to go here:
https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object/

but I would suggest to the developers, to start naming or numbering the images as they are uploaded to a specific Ad. not really that hard to do ..(except for me of course LOL)

Agree with @design

I don't mind paying the $2, but i'm looking for a permanent/never have to worry again solution. This is something that needs to be fixed from the core, and not a provisional fix granted by a plugin.

This has nothing to do with the core.

it does, sort of. in one of the threads I was in talking about this, it goes back to the 404 server error (not osclass 404) on expired ads. that is core, though I am sure it can be fixed in the plugin??? but why, that core thing has been on the back burner so long it's stinking up the place.

osclass should work with Facebook at core level. as much as I hate saying it, it is a necessary evil.

people want to advertise their advertisements as many places as possible. images working is a given, 404's, well a redirect would work if ad is expired, deleted or ghosted - but a proper redirect.

wow..2.00...what kind of a creep would charge 2 bucks.

Well, the said developer is not a "creep" in my eyes (and on a side note, I am not used to "calling names" members around here, this is very new for me). Sure, when taxes, paypal and commission fee from the market gets subtracted, it will be a pocket change (if not zero) left for that poor guy; but somehow I think that his mission is not to get a fortune and become a rich via 2$ plugin, but to essentially support the core dev team through the commission. I fully support that developer for providing a 100% functional plugin. Isn't that what everyone want? Or a half-working one to complain all day?  ???

it does, sort of.

Once again, no, it is not. Did you see other user's pictures in your items and vice versa in factory themes? Can you delete other user's images? No. For a fact I can say this is not an issue with the core, but with your plugin or a theme.

No CMS that is popular (Wordpress, Drupal, Joomla...) work with Facebook or any other social network from the core. That is simply pile stuffing logic that works for some, but not everyone who try to keep the things simple, especially the folks that maintain it, and besides, core should and is providing a solid foundation stone, plugins (of various quality) extends it.

Hi

I just though about the fact that the username on osclass market and the forum are not the same so it's not easy to see who is who. But I am the developer of that plugin and one more (the Intrusion Detection plugin). I don't consider myself a creep but instead I highly value openness and honesty.

Previously in my life I have spent a lot of time contributing free time to open source projects etc because I love giving back. But I'm in a position with a family and two kids (three within a few days) and a full time job that have caused me to have less time to spare.

So I have made a deal with myself that I will try to get something small back in return that I will use to do fun things with the kids as a way of making up for the time I spent developing something and not playing with them and also gives me energy and motivation to keep doing the same in the future. One story of the opposite is a large Open Source project where I did a lot of work and spent a lot of time and energy. I didn't charge anything for "plugins" I made to it and there were thousands of users. After about six months of working I added a text and a link that they could donate if they liked my work and wanted to support it... None did, I didn't receive a single cent or a single kind word for all my time and energy put in even though thousands of users used the stuff daily.

Here is where my believes of openness and honesty comes into play since I want to be fair. The Open Graph plugin was something that I spent an evening developing (and probably more down the road). Because of that I don't feel it should cost $50 or some crazy figure I have seen other things go for. A cent per sale or something is roughly what I will get out of this plugin. Calling me a creep for that is a bit harsh without speaking to me or knowing me or my background at all.

But we are all different, I personally regularly pay small amounts to devs who take donations for their work or charge small sums since I want to say "thank you for your time solving my problem so I don't have to" and to encourage them to keep going. To all those that don't feel I'm a creep and actually do want to show some love for time I dedicate to the osclass community instead of my family have my thanks and love. You are what strong, great and kind communities are made up of.

Well, what a coincidence that design also mentioned recently great news expecting a grandchild any day now, so this is a funny way in life setting up a stage this way. Congratulations to you both @design and @inquam! This is the best possible exit from the circumstances and a reason for 'peace' offerings and celebrations. I was under my conscience's pressure, because felt a need to step up for someone that  never met, but now I'm glad I did.
