Adaptation: Amazon S3 Upload Plugin

I would really like the benefit of offsetting my bandwidth to be able to hotlink to photobucket. Is there any chance of adapting this plugin to also support either photobucket or any other 'free' image hosting sites?

Doing so would be extremely helpful for much much smaller sites like my own and anybody else's who do not have dedicated hosting or extremely large amounts of monthly bandwidth allowance.
