You are right, but you are also not right. Big mistake would be isolation and keep protection in local environment - that my mechanism block all spam. This is not possible and when you met with advanced chinese bot, there is big issue.

Well it's digital so never 100% but best would be not to bet on one horse I guess....use country access based on ip's, combined with blacklist and captcha will keep out most of the pests I think.

So, why you would buy something if you can do it by yourself? Because it is lose of time and you can invest that time to more valuable activity, like doing something that is already not.
Why you would do same captcha as is paid math? Again, losing of time.

Anyway, I am big fan of osclass progress and looking for more and more cool plugins, but those that brings something new and are not just copies, paid of free   ... because even you finish your plugin, it does not bring anything new, anything that does not already exists and expand osclass

Do you have ANY idea how many caching plugins exist for Wordpress ? Just an example of cource. Around 8 and maybe i misss a couple.

The one we have created here isn't doing the 'exact' same thing Frosticek.
It is targeted towards the same goal of other existing anti-spam plugins, just no image captcha sweet or google and no math captcha, no ip-ban or honey-pot though honey-pot addition would be even cooler!

They are all free, each one competing with each other to be better and best supported. Some for BIG Wordpress installations (W3 Total Cache) some for shared hosting (Hyper Cache).

No you can use one per website of cource !

How about:

- the option of FREE CHOICE
- several plugins give others different kinds of quality
- maybe different performance (case of cache plugins)
- different approaches = more or less cache
- free or paid
- support differences ie. only 1 could be too much dependancy and creates a natural way of competition
- different system versions might require different cache tactics

Mmmmzz interesting, the registering of the plugin should not be an issue where you get the repetetive hPlugins.php error.

I did leave out some code for the install/uninstall hooks since I do not use any functions for initialising the plugin. I haven't seen these errors myself in latest Osclass version BUT it could well be that my cache is preventing these errors from occuring.

Can someone else maybe try to install the plugin in latest Osclass version and let me know if these errors come up?

For those interested, I decided to definitely start working on yet another Spam Stop plugin, one that is based on existing plugin BUT using concept of HoneyPot so there's no need for users to take extra action ie. no math to enter, no field to empty and no images to look at and input some text/code etc.... oh yeah... and free 

I like the HoneyPot protection best for several reasons and I think I'll have fun creating it and definitely will use it in my own system.
The only worry I have is will I manage and will it work as good as I would like it to?
