Hi there,

suppose you just installed Osclass using the installer and at one point during installation there's a question about search engines and your site.
You don't bother too much and since you're in a hurry to start your new website you click continue.

OH NOOO! I DO want my website to be found by Search engines, now what?!

1) stay cool
2) Read this thread and undo your mistake.

:)

Eric

I think this behavior of Osclass should change. It should be like Wordpress, that just put a proper Robot.txt to block (some) search engines from indexing. And a checkbox in WP Admin  removes it (or enable it).

Hi Aficionado,

actually Osclass is using a robots.txt so bots are allowed to crawl away.....however, that specific Search Engine option which can be enabled during install is actively pushing the sitemap of your website to 3 different search engines which is actually offering a bit more.
The thing is that there's not much documentation on this 'feature' if I am correct, I know it is activated during install but I did not take the time to investigate more and see if Osclass uses that property/setting after install also like daily or weekly or something.

Eric
