Order of regions in twitter theme
« on: April 25, 2015, 08:56:33 am »
Hi all,

Friends I am using twitter theme for my project. By default the regions are arranged alphabetically in this theme (and perhaps in all other themes). Is there a way to keep the order of regions in which they are added from the admin area (dashboard) of osclass.

For example if three regions are added in the following order:

Beta
Alpha
Gama

The twitter theme will show the regions in the following order (alphabetical arrangement)

Alpha
Beta
Gama

But I want them in the following order (the order in which they are originally entered or added from the dashboard)

Beta
Alpha
Gama

Please help as it will assure the completion of my project. Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your help teseo. :)

If I include a country the regions and cities automatically appear under it. I shall however modify them (some additional regions and cities shall be included and some will be removed). But it does not matter whether the are already included or manually added, the arrangement is alphabetical. I simply want to be able to change the order of the regions. screen shots are attached.

It does matter. See, if you add them automatically, their ID's are automatically set as well (usually with a long number such as 405678), while if you add them one at a time, the first location will have ID = 1, the second ID = 2 and so on. Then it would be a matter to get them not by Name (alphabetical order) but by ID (order in what they were added to the database). Also, this would benefit final URL's format, they would be shorter (http://yoursite.com/islamabad-r1 instead of, for instance, http://yoursite.com/islamabad-r405678).

So, again, there is at least some locations you added automatically or all of them were added manually? ???

Dear teseo your help is much appreciated. :)

I included one only one country and that is "Pakistan". The regions and cities automatically appeared under it.
Should I delete all regions and cities and include them again one by one?

Th best strategy would depend on the real amount of "privileged" locations you want to add and the current status of your site (if it's new then no problems here, if on the contrary you already have ads that you need to keep, that would change things).

So, would you want to have total control of the order of every location, or just a few? ???

The site is being constructed so no real ads. There are only a few test ads.
Actually I want to include some new regions and also want them at the top of others that are automatically included.

Example:

New region 1
New region 2
New region 3
New region 4
New region 5
Regions that are automatically added
