I just compressed my site using .zip compression. When I grabbed it on my new server and unzipped it, 5 file names with underscore _ as part of the name were changed to a weird diamond shaped ascii character, which of course blocked the website from working. That took me several hours to trouble shoot. I suggest that you replace the underscores with hypens.
