I am facing setup problems with a new setup of Osclass 3.7.4. I followed the instruction for the setup, so this is what I did:
1. Download of the setup package.
2. Upload of the extracted files into a new directory on my webserver.
3. creation of a MySSQL Database.
4. I opened the website and the page opened with this error page:
There doesn't seem to be a config.php file. Osclass isn't installed.
Install Button
I have then - of course - pushed the install button.
5. A new page opens and lists the status
All right! All the requirements have met:
PHP version >= 5.6.x
MySQLi extension for PHP
GD extension for PHP
Folder oc-content/uploads exists
oc-content/uploads folder is writable
Folder oc-content/downloads exists
oc-content/downloads folder is writable
Folder oc-content/languages folder exists
oc-content/languages folder is writable
Root directory is writable
config-sample.php file exists
Allow my site to appear in search engines like Google.
Help make Osclass better by automatically sending usage statistics and crash reports to Osclass.
Every line item is ticked off with a green check-mark.
6. Now the button below states "Run the Install"
7. After hitting the install Button a page opens requesting the Database information:
Host dbXXXXXXXXX.db.1and1.com Server name or IP ....
Database name dbXXXXXXXXX The name of the database .....
User Name dboXXXXXXXXX Your MySQL username
Password ••••••••••••••••• Your MySQL password
Table prefix md_ If you want to run ...
Advanced
No advanced entries as database is already created, is empty and ready to use.
8. NEXT-button pushed - and then this error message pops up:
Osclass » Error
Osclass database server is not available. Need more help?
I checked the database information - again and again and this is not the first web-system I am setting up. I accessed the database via my phpMyAdmin page provided and the database is accessible without any problem.
I changed the php version from 5.6 (original version) to 7.1 - it makes no difference.
