Direct translate bender

Hi! As I seem to have problem with multiple languages (swedish/english) as stated in other topics my last resort is to direct translate the english version. How would I do this in the most simple way?

Do I just translate the ('english text') or do I need to do something with the _e thingy also?

The problem I am having is that when user posts an ad in swedish the info is written to english columns and therefore is not possible to do a search for the ad
