adding the type of ad
« on: March 04, 2011, 09:17:53 am »
I suggest that OSC can add the type of ad. such as "offer" and "need" or "sell" "buy"
so that we can know if the ad is offering or needng.

please see the attach.

Hi cms2008,

We'll study that idea, but it sounds great!.

Unfortunately, I can't see any attach. Did you attach something to the forum?

Thanks

pls see the attach.

Sort by offer or need in the list page. when we post an ad, we choose the type of information.
pls refer to http://aderous.com/publish-a-new-ad.htm

I think this should be a plugin. I wouldn't make it a standard feature. I dislike how they added it in recent version to OpenClassifieds. It's an extra field to fill out when publishing an ad.

You can always add a "Need" category where people can ask for items and services they request.

But I wouldn't suggest adding it. I would say that 98% of ads on classifieds sites like Craigslist are items for sale. And the ones which are "need", it's usually people asking for free things because they don't have the money to pay for them.

@Codemonkey
I don't agree with you on the fact that these are people having no money. I have launched a classifieds website, and I had many request from people telling me: how do i ask something I am looking for ? These people had some money  ;)
More seriously, this allows you to reach a broader audience and make your ads website a real meeting place

We definetly will make a plugin of it, expect it very soon!

I could inform you as soon as I make it, so you could test it. Thanks!
