All of sudden started getting "Server error 500" (SOLVED)

Hi friends,
               I had installed osclass 3.5.7 with bender theme for my domain. Everything was fine, until my host provider upgraded the Cpanel to 54.0.17.

Now when I try to open the website it is showing "Server error 500" Pls check attachment.

Initially the cpanel had the following config :-
Apache = 2.2.31
PHP = 5.4.45
MySQL = 5.5.46-cll

Now the new Cpanel 54.0.17 is having the following config :-
Apache = 2.4.18
PHP = 5.5.32
MySQL = 5.5.48-cll

I enquired about this to my host provider. This is the answer they replied :-

please be sure, that the files still exists and the path to the files is correct. maybe you could turn on the debug mode, to get more informations about that, what goes wrong

This is a HOSTING problem (their problem) and not of Osclass.

Could be a tmp files problem if i remember correctly.

                you seem to be correct. I am having problems with host provider every now and then. At present they are not even answering my Tickets, mails or phone calls.

           I checked for the file class.smtp.phpThere is no such file in that location in my osclass installation.

Now what should I do

did you make a backup before your hoster make the changes? you have to re-upload the missing files

you are using an older version of osclass, so i dont know if the files from the new version are compatible with yours


and maybe... you should think about another hoster

Ask your hosting provider to check Apache config.... they went from 2.2 to 2.4 and that needs some config changes that most likely are the root cause of your problem. There have not been made any changes to your folder structure or folder rights by this upgrade so if you ask me this is a 100% host issue....most likely Apache config related.

Yes Liath, I had made a website folder backup through FTP and database backup through Cpanel>backup , 2 times in last 1 month. Its on my home desktop PC  (before the host provider Cpanel upgrade). I had even tried restoring those backups but in vain with same Error 500 recurring.
This is how I restored the OSClass website :-
1. deleted all files in website folder on server
2. dropped all tables of database and made it empty.
3. copied all the website folder files (backup on my PC) by zipping it and then extracting on server
4. restored database from Cpanel>backup>
(I hope its correct ?)


Yes SmaRTeY , you are fully correct, it seems to be hosting problem, because, just now I had uninstalled OSClass and installed the latest OSClass once again through Cpanel>Softaculous Installer. Installation was success, but the Error 500 persists.

Surely, tomorrow I will be talking with them regarding Apache config.

Dont go with cheap hosting company.
You'll pay for it in the end if your site is successful, and you need technical assistance asap, then they will leave you high and dry.

Hi friends,
               I tried to talk with host provider many times, they did not respond to me. So in the meantime I just stopped caring about them and was looking for new hosting for my OSClass website. Today all of a sudden when I tried to open my website, it got opened normally and everything seems to be working fine. It was a problem (maybe created purposefully) by the host provider Microhost.com. Thanks to all here who responded me.

I am not a php coder. I did the basic customisation by help from this forum champ members. It took me around 4-5 months. I have got used to OSClass 3.5.7. So just to be on a safer side I want a OSClass 3.5.7 installation files. I had searched everywhere on internet but could not find this version download. Pls can somebody provide me OSClass 3.5.7 setup files
