Nope, I have seen many users accidentally or otherwise omit that simple fact. Just a friendly advice, I know the feel when you get stuck, beleive me... just to find out later on the cause.

Anyway, have no issues* with 3.4 master or dev versions on several setups in my case. Btw, I have traced on a daily basis entire dev path from 332 to 340 (and contributed to early discovery of some bugs), no difference in speed or anything that affects compatibility with basic plugins.

*in a common sense, software is in constant state of beta.

Well the image uploading drap & drop doesn't work for me, with an invalid extension error.

Uploading without drap and drop (with an other theme) uploading works ok. Also on the same server/plan i run an other 4 Osclass websites.

So apparently there is a problem, don't worry people will encounter it in a few hours.

I have also encountered that very same bug once on my xampp with jpg images, but could not reproduce it later on, it really does happens on some setups for some reason.

I did find 2 issues on my own: random maintenace mode is triggered soon after installation and initial admin setup and user login. Also, some issues with page redirect to admin login (described on git).

Regards

You are talking about 3.4 RC, are you ? Or not.

The whole team here is playing with the installation ONLINE, for 4 hours and didn't have any of those you mention.

Does PermaLink works fine in this new version?  no issues with Category and SubCategory in this?  I want to know before update.

@Aficionado

yes, maintenance mode was triggered both on my xampp and VPS. 2 installations only, will test more tomorrow. It only happened after first admin logout and first user login attempt, no more occurrences later on. No issues with image upload and ad postings, though.

I'm not aware of any permalinks problems with the current version. Everything worked for me. For ages.

What was the problem ?

I have reproduced the issue with develop version and image upload failure on xampp (local, GD lib), under windows xp with all the permissions you can get as admin :)

standard small jpeg files, but cannot reproduce it on a live server with either libs.

Error from debug.log

Impossible to upload ANY image to ads.

GD or Imagik.

See the error:

*** If i use a Theme without the Drag and Drop, the uploading works ok ***

We can not reproduce the issue, we used apache and nginx on 3 different servers and it worked fine on all of them, maybe it has something to do with your server (LiteSPEED) and the way it handles XHR ? I fine little-to-none information about the topic

I see mention of Caching build-in.

But APC or Memcache doesn't work with any kind of Shared hosting plans. So it is not for the majority of people. Maybe when php6 will become a reality we can use APC since it will be build-in to PHP. Still APC is not the best out there.

I see there is a third caching. What that could be ?

It depends on your hosting's features. While everyone's website will improve with the use of a cache, if you're in a shared hosting/plan you probably are fine without a cache.
We implemented two of the most known/common cache engines out there, but left the door open to anyone implementing new ones or improving existing ones. For the moment there's no third cache engine planed

Downloading from Market (for testing) the Modern 3.0.3 and see if it works, i was shocked to see a version of Modern WITHOUT the drag and drop.

Why is that ? Github was updated with it. Why strip Modern theme functions from Market ?

Market version wasn't update with changes from github, this has nothing to do with version 3.4RC, but to the theme itself. We'll be updating all themes soon.

Not sure it is is the same since the link doesn;t work.

In any case, i wrote that this is an OLD and well-known problem, still unfixed and downplayed for some reason.

BUT the installation continues and work until the end.
It wasn't downplayed, I didn't know about it until now, and it's fixed (location error at installation) (and If I knew, I forgot about it, sorry).

With 3.3.2 my Country links URL result from main page was:

http://www.website.com/search/country,AU

Now it is:

http://www.website.com/search/osclass,rn5a53oav3supak0tjskb6u2g6/country,AU

And it seems all searches are like that:

http://www.website.com/search/osclass,rn5a53oav3supak0tjskb6u2g6/pattern,apple

http://dev.website/search/osclass,af5gg6hikt0j2vo84f8hdodit3/category,alabama-r782042/region,782042

What is that ? "osclass"  in search terms ? "rn5a53oav3supak0tjskb6u2g6" ????

Are you using any plugin?

No plugins, a plain unaltered 3.4.

Modern or bender, same result.

I use a total 8 Osclass Websites with LiteSpeed without a single problem. I don't think it is related to my setup.

I don't know what other info you may need. PM me if you want to see it for yourself or test it or whatever else you need.
