Findings for Osclass 3.4 RC
« on: July 21, 2014, 09:20:02 pm »
Just installed it to my hosting plan for testing. LiteSPEED server with PHP 5.5.

As usual during the installation if i selected Skip the installation of any location, i get an error. But the installation continues normally.

Nice to see that some things do not change.

 :o

More findings later today.

PLEASE DO NOT POLLUTE THIS THREAD WITH IRELLEVANT REPLIES.

I see mention of Caching build-in.

But APC or Memcache doesn't work with any kind of Shared hosting plans. So it is not for the majority of people. Maybe when php6 will become a reality we can use APC since it will be build-in to PHP. Still APC is not the best out there.

I see there is a third caching. What that could be ?

Downloading Black bender (that says it it doesn't work with 3.4) and activating it:

[21-Jul-2014 19:44:27 Europe/Madrid] PHP Notice:  Undefined variable: buttonClass in /home/dev/oc-content/themes/bender_black/main.php on line 35
[21-Jul-2014 19:45:22 Europe/Madrid] PHP Warning:  Illegal string offset 'pk_i_id' in /home/dev/oc-content/themes/bender_black/search-sidebar.php on line 81
[21-Jul-2014 19:45:22 Europe/Madrid] PHP Notice:  Uninitialized string offset: 0 in /home/dev/oc-content/themes/bender_black/search-sidebar.php on line 81
[21-Jul-2014 19:46:10 Europe/Madrid] PHP Notice:  Undefined variable: i in /home/dev/oc-content/themes/bender_black/item.php on line 76
[21-Jul-2014 19:46:10 Europe/Madrid] PHP Notice:  Undefined index: items in /home/dev/oc-includes/osclass/core/View.php on line 132

So back to the Default bender.

Downloading from Market (for testing) the Modern 3.0.3 and see if it works, i was shocked to see a version of Modern WITHOUT the drag and drop.

Why is that ? Github was updated with it. Why strip Modern theme functions from Market ?

I was trying to update some of the market themes. I redid twitter, and a spare called hierarchy.
they are pretty buried in the theme forum though  :'(  :-\  .

 Im doing some testing myself

between us, changing to 5.5, will that only affect this test version or will it change the hosting account?

No it is for the whole account i'm afraid. Why? 5.5 seems to work fine with Osclass. I had some initial problems but they were not related to PHP 5.5 but to AAM plugin dates.

Sorry, I do not want in any way "pollute" your thread, but ... the problem you are having is what I put here some time ago.
http://forums.osclass.org/installation-update-help/what-happens-with-locations-step!/
I have no idea how this problem came out of nowhere. Both in localhost as web hosting. I gave up of this problem because there was no support. However having a full backup of my system with the locations is enough for me (in case this problem will never be solved).
The php version of my wamp is 5.3.8 (and never update the php version.. and the error is occurred in any osclass installation )

Not sure it is is the same since the link doesn;t work.

In any case, i wrote that this is an OLD and well-known problem, still unfixed and downplayed for some reason.

BUT the installation continues and work until the end.

Sorry ... the link was wrong. This is correct link:
http://forums.osclass.org/installation-update-help/what-happens-with-locations-step!/
The problem is similar at least in your first post. Nothing guarantees that osclass can be installed properly with ignoring this error (anything can happen).

Something wrong with this link...

use the search with this: what-happens-with-locations-step

My thead is the first

Well, i have something to say about 3.4 RC, it seems slower to me than 3.3.2.

It doesn't show in various tests like google pagespeed, but i'm pretty sure it is slower.

Modern theme seems to work fine, except for the general problem of images uploading when posting an ad.
