OSClass 1.0 RC Installation problem on local WampServer
« on: September 15, 2010, 03:48:32 am »
Hi, all
I tried to install the last version of OSClass on WampServer (Windows).
Steps 1 and 2 go OK, but when I click on the Submit button it takes a lot of time and until it gets to the next step (probably creating all the tables); then it shows Step 3, but only with a header: no forms, no buttons - just freezes there.

After deleting the oc-install folder I can see the homepage with all the data, but as there is no user created, I have no access to the administration panel or anything else...

Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance :)

P.S. I downloaded and installed the previous version - osclass-1.0delta - And the installation was smooth - Everything went ok.

Installation runs fine for me. It's true it takes a lot of time to go go from step 2 to 3 but that's because of the countries' tables and data.

We're currently working on a new installation process, in the meantime, could you tell us more about the problem? (since we couldn't reproduce it in our servers, but they're linux and mac machines).

Thanks

minerva,

Yes actually its possible for you to have this problem, wampserver has a fail safe configuration by default since its a home-kind webserver, so it will probably stuck under heavy tables. I would suggest you to read this Stack overflow Q/A

Either way, you can download apache with PHP modules and MySQL server separately and set them up, that will speed up your system performance.

But, you should always remember, that wamp it's not a solution for production sites, anyway, a log info would be nice, because we are facing here a MySQL problem.
