Hello,
I installed Osclass about a week ago. I modified the Bender theme somewhat, and as far as I know everything was fine. I had made a great deal of changes (playing around), some simple, some not, so I decided to delete the install, and re-install, before taking the installation live. I had a few backups of some Bender theme files I had modified (minor stuff that I wanted to keep and use) and some notes, so customizing the new install should have been simple.
So, I deleted Osclass. (I used Softaculous for both the install and the uninstall). I like to be cautious, so I looked in my hosting cPanel to make sure all signs of the database were gone. Everything looked good: No sign of the deleted database in my databases area or in PHPMyAdmin.
Then I reinstalled Osclass. Before even beginning on a few simple (Bender) theme modifications I began placing test ads. That's where the trouble started. The new test ads were placed ok, but the images within the ad were wrong. For example: The first thumbnail was the image of a cat, but the full size image was of a horse. All three of the images were like that. Even more confusing is that all of the images were from the deleted install. None of them were the new, never-used-them-before images I uploaded in the test ad of the second install.
So, I looked in the config.php file and the info in there was correct for the second install. Then I contacted my web host who said the database of the first install was truly deleted. They said something weird happened, but that it wouldn't happen again. Not very technical or reassuring.
So, I deleted Osclass, again, and reinstalled it. I've been very careful to use different database names, table prefixes, admin user names, and passwords. I have been installing to the same directory but it's important to use that directory (and the entire directory was deleted during the uninstalls). And, in my hosting control panel there's no sign of the deleted databases. Even so, when I placed a new test ad, with images I haven't used before, images from the previous installs show up instead, and the thumbnails don't match the full-size images.
Does anyone have any idea what this is? I spent a great deal of time in live-chat with my web host and they assure me it's not on their end (though I suspect it could be, I just don't know what). My host's help files say there isn't any caching, so I'm at a loss. Thank you for any ideas.
