Hi All Gurus,

i have an issue at step 1 of installation of osclass newest version. i have copied all the extracted files to / of hosting server. and started with http://<hostname>/index.php. but i got one cross mark in the prerequisites check.  i.e " Root directory is writable" .

the error message at the top is -

Root folder has to be writable, i.e.: chmod a+w /hermes/bosweb/web042/b421/ipg.websitecreationtutor/ .

if any one comment some thing on how to solve the issue,  that will be really helpful to me...

Thanks,
Shabbir.

You cannot change the permissions of this folder? In that case you should contact your hosting provider. We'll modify it for next releases and won't be mandatory to be writable the root folder.

Hi,

I got following message from my hosting provider.

Hello Shabbir,

Thank you for contacting us.

We have already set proper permissions for your account. We suspect the issue might be from the application end. We suggest you to contact the application vendor regarding this issue. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Technical Specialist

Hi Juan Ramon,

I am still getting this issue. but i am not able to judge where is this issue. is it with the application or the hosting partner. hosting partner told me they have given me enough permissions. i am still strucked in the same issue.

thanks,
Shabbir.

Perhaps if you try to install in a subfolder?
