SOLVED - 2.3 update FAIL
« on: November 28, 2011, 11:58:12 pm »
I knew I would have issues. I usually do  :-\
I tried to upgrade:

But received this error:

So what is the next step? I am worried about trying it manually as I don't feel too confident in my php skills. Any suggestions?

Hi sundance

You could try the manual upgrade. It is just 3 steps.

1. Download OSClass 2.3

2. Extract the files and upload them to your server

3. type in your address bar www.youraddress.com/oc-includes/osclass/upgrade-funcs.php

That is all it take to do a manual upgrade.

If it does not work, how can I undo what I did?

To undo the changes you would just upload the 2.2.3 files and follow the steps I gave you.

While trying the automatic update it wiped all of the prices, and now just say "Check with seller"  ???

Will updating (either automatic or manual) get rid of all the custom things I did to my site? I know the manual will.

I am not sure as to why it wiped all the prices.

One more thing when you go to do the update if you have permalinks enabled osclass suggest that you disable them before you do an upgrade.

Here is the wiki article on updating osclass.

You are using the bcute theme right. If so your theme changes will still be the same. If you are using the modern theme you would want to make a copy of it first.

Update was successful. The only thing the was affected was the prices, but only with items in the thousands of dollars. Easy fix. Had to do the instal manually (I think it is because I didn't turn off permalinks when doing it automatically). Thanks for all the help.I did notice it killed the Google map mod to where you can change the categories. I will post any other weird occurrences from the updates.

I am glad to hear that the upgrade went well. I think the google maps problem is because the osclass files also include the google maps and analytics plugins so just upload your copy of the google maps plugin and it should be working again.

Yep, worked great, just replaced the index file. I really like the plugin admin portion. It looks a lot better and it is nice to simply disable them. Now it is on to figuring out how to use the jquery menu to my benefit.  :)

I was thinking that was the problem. The plugin admin is a lot nicer now and the disabling of plugins is a nice feature.

3. type in your address bar www.youraddress.com/oc-includes/osclass/upgrade-funcs.php

hmmzzz ... error:
ALTER TABLE oc_t_locale ALTER COLUMN s_dec_point SET DEFAULT .
ALTER TABLE oc_t_locale ALTER COLUMN s_thousands_sep SET DEFAULT

Any idea what that could be?

Hi @quebo, a few questions ...

1.- From what version are you trying to update ?

2.- Did you try update (via oc-admin or manualy via upgrade-funcs.php) before you execute upgrade-funcs.php ?

Thanks
