Category images as a link for category titles ::Modern theme::

Hi to all

what is the way of doing ;
png images only as a link instead of category titles ? so that image will do the work only

is it possible to assign images? as a link to main categories? on the main page only.... ???

nothing specific for Modern theme as far as I see @ the forum....step by step will be highly appreciated for all modern theme users.

I use modern theme 3.0.3 osclass 3.2.2
