carousel plugin show listings by location and category

Is it possible that the carousel pluigin can be adapted to just show listings from a location and category?

ie when a visitor searches for a category in a location only ads from that location appear.

If not could this be developed for future releases? Possible control via widgets inserted into location listings.

I know its a big ask but just a thought.
