Need help with Pre-resize Image plugin...
« on: January 08, 2019, 07:25:42 pm »
I posted this in General but haven't gotten a response yet so I'm trying here.

My site started having trouble uploading images, anything over about 100kb would give an "XHR returned response code 500X error when uploading images" error.  I've done everything that I could find after searching the issue, host added ImageMagik, updated to 3.8 and installed Pre-resize Image plugin.  Nothing helped after each one was tried.  The plugin seems to be installed correctly since the admin side looks right and the images upload and show the thumbnail with the new file size, but when you hit "Update" on the listing it takes you to .../index.php and displays a blank page.

I don't know much about PHP so I'm lost now.  Any suggestions?

Hello,

If you really tried all suggestions and nothing, I think it's best to try with a clean install. If you will do so, make sure to backup everything, including the database.
Before that you may try to install another Osclass on your hosting and see if the issue is still there.

Regards.

I just updated to 3.8 with every file new except the oc-content folder.  Installing a separate OSC to test is a great idea.  I could add my mods one at a time to see if the problem occurs.  Thanks, I'll try that.

Okay, a little more info.  I have three car registries on the same host, one is version 3.7.1, 3.7.4 and 3.8.  All three do the same thing.  Woudn't the only common denominator be the host?

Yeah, try contacting the hosting. If you plan to switch, I must suggest you Defend Hosting, I've been using their VPS for a while and it's awesome (no, I ain't getting payed for this :) ).

Regards.

I submitted a ticket, we'll see what they say.  I've been using geekhosting.com and they've been great.  Prices are good, uptime is basically 100% so far in the last three years and their support is fast and helpful.
