I've done a test on your site, uploading of small images is fine, so maybe your problem is in your configuration. What values ("XXXX") have you on Admin Dashboard / Settings / Media:Maximum size XXXX Size in KB Maximum size PHP configuration allows: XXXX KB?
I can see you're running Nginx, is it your own server (VPS or dedicated)?
See in /etc/nginx/nginx.conf what value you have for "client_max_body_size" (it should be a bit more of 8192 KB to match your PHP limits)
Then I'm running out of ideas... If you disable the plugin and try to upload a big image (but of no more than 5 MB), it would work?
And the filesize of that image?
