Richedit - Code stripping

I had some user complaints about their inability to format thier ad correctly. It all looks dandy when they are working on it but once submited the all their formating of the ad gets stripped out.

At the same time I have also been asked to give users the ability to embed their images in the ad. This may reduce bandwidth usage and makes it easier for users to use the same image they host on one server and use on mulitple classfieds sites.

Any ideas how to get the two above things solved?
