Category not ticket at sidebar search

Hi there,

When a user clicks a subcategory under cars or real estate, at the next page cars or real estate is not ticked at sidebar search. This causes confusion at users since their search doesn't give any results without main category ticked. How can the main category be selected by default when someone clicks a sub-category?
