Confirm location of ad on google maps

Hi,

I have some problems with the google maps. I am living on an island with a very bad Google Maps coverage. It means that the address shown in the map is not correct.

On the skyhook website, they allow you to check the location of the map.

Would that be complicated to do for osclass ?

But it seems that skyhookwireles is oriented for mobile devices. Am I right?

They provide a service that allows to do geolocation using wifi networks. By registering your access point MAC address and its address. This is used by the guys that make the Undercover software for Mac for example. If someone steals your mac, it is possible to locate it thanks to the Wifi connection.

Getting back to the map feature. I have seen that some sites also provide this kind of interface.

People type in the address and it appears in a map. Users can drag the pin point to the right location. The exact location of the pinpoint is then added to the form being submitted.

This allows to reduce the errors of the geocoding...
