Hi!

Anyone considering adding sorting by both variables simultaneously (item published date and item modified date - sort by latest value) and setting it to default sort option? Thus the most fresh content will be kept on top. Most probably will increase traffic, sales and time spent on site by users.

Sure! No problem. Just image users who want their featured item to be on top of all featured items. Will be a refresh item frenzy from the user side, which gives advertisement positions more views or make users to actually buy advertising spot (banner), if they don't really want to refresh their items all the time. Also, if other visitors see the content is being constantly updated, it would be more likely they would visit often and recommend the site because they see activity and constantly fresh content and also possibly buy banner space. Also a good idea will be to make a realtime feed like module for front page - like latest items (no matter published or modified date - just latet value again). I have only one concern, though, as I believe the above statement, will be server or resource usage friendly. The problem is display. I noticed that when an item gets featured, it not only has different style associated with it and appears on top of items. It also appears inbetween normal items with the tag "featured". How to make it appear only on featured items without appearing inbetween regular items with this "featured" tag? A good addition to this will be to enable certain fields to be displayable (visible) ONLY if the item is featured and also adding a badword filter or filter for other fields where users try to include the data from any "only featured visible fields" without paying for featured by entering the data in description text box. Send me your thoughts.

EDIT: grammatical mistake
