Did you try the plugins? We have plugins for cars, real states, jobs,... they allow you to include those fields and also search and filter your results by them...
Yes, you can do some search, but only make, model and car type, maybe soomro30 want more options, by the way, when we publish a car we get blank page when send new car ad, the same happen when try edit from email, but we can edit the car ad from admin, just using cars plugin, no problem with other categories. (OSClass 2.2RC)
From frontpage to Vehicle Category we don`t see Vehicle Subcategories, we need back to frontpage and click Vehicle Subcategory (ie: cars) to go to that subcategory so we need display Vehicle Subcategories and so in sidebar when click Main Categories from frontpage.
