How about a Google map that shows all listings so users can quickly see ads in any geographic area? Color coded markers/legend for main categories. Using a mandatory zipcode/postal coded custom field would allow for many possibilities, including zip radius search on map. Perhaps this could be a feature added to the existing Google maps plugin. Many people have been talking about a zip-code radius search filter for ads, which is a great idea, but it seems like the Google map approach would require much less development time as the Google map API has turnkey solutions already.
