Municipalities
« on: December 12, 2012, 02:24:09 pm »
In Italy we have this territorial division:

State ----- Regions ------ Provinces ------ Municipalities (Comuni)

1 State = Italy
20 regions = Campania, Lazio brands etc..
110 provinces = Rome, Milan, Naples, etc..
8100 Comuni = Latina, Foligno, Narni etc..

so for example we will have:

Italy

(Region) Umbria -> (Province) Perugia and Terni

(Provincia) Perugia -> (Comuni) Marsciano, Todi, Umbertide, Citta 'di Castello, Foligno eTc..
(Provincia) Terni -> (Comuni) Orvieto, Narni, Amelia, etc..

In OSclass The database includes only:

State
Region
City (Province)

You can add or modify a table to relate the municipalities (Comuni)  with the provinces (current City), so every as it is now for Regions Cities?

thanks

Hi horusbird,

Osclass have in the database :
Country
Regions
Cities (Provinces?)
City Areas (Municipalies?)

Geographical data is very hard to get (it's very expensive and/or incomplete).

You probably don't have city areas (the table will be empty at Osclass).

We have here more complete information about Italy : http://geo.osclass.org/downloads/ but it still lacks from municipalies (some countries have the data, other not).

You could edit your tables to add that data, but it will be a hard job, we know. But if you know where we could get that data, we'll try to add it for you.

Data have to be in a "parseable" format, like a list, a database, a xml file or something similar.

Thanks
