A serious question about Gum theme
« on: February 24, 2017, 11:39:29 pm »
Hi

Gum theme looks and feels like the site 'gumtree.co.uk'. If I use this theme in the UK, would 'gumtree' come after me? Bit scary, I love this theme and how can I get around this?

Regards

Can the developer of this theme answer this question? Was there any similar incidence reported?

Thanks

Gum theme is maded by osclass and its look like Gumtree.
But don't worry about the appearance. It fully fresh coded with bootstrap. They didn't copy the codes from Gumtree.

Hi fre2mansur

I agree with you but I am concerned with the way it looks and feels. Would the developers explain this?

You can ask that from support on osclass.

Gum Theme is a great stuff that works straight out of box. As any other theme you may want to tweak it a bit, such as changing homepage banner and so on.

Good luck!

Thank you BritWeb.
The real problem here is that, i tried to install it on my locally (XAMPP) and its not installing. Nothing showed up when i tried to access it through browser. The file doesn't have; oc-admin, oc-content and oc-include.

You always need to install osclass first then you can use different themes.
The themes are not stand alone softwares, the core is osclass, the same as wordpress, you can change themes but the core is WP.

you need to go in oc-admin->Appearance->Manage themes->Add new and then you choose the zip file of the theme and click to upload.
After that you can activate the theme in Manage themes

Thank you once again cartagena68. I tried uploading as you instructed but it kept saying No file was uploaded.  is it because I'm doing this on my local machine using (xampp)

Ok, just unzip the theme and copy the unzipped theme folder in oc-content/themes
Then you go in oc-admin->Appearance->Manage themes and you should see the theme to activate
