How to start a classified and actually profit.

I am no Internet marketer nor a spammer. These are the methods that worked for me and I shared it. If you have something to share have your say or get the hell out of my thread. A lot of newbies find it very useful.

I have a question. I did not understand really about this copy people ads from other sites. Are you saying go to another ad-site in the country. Try to find their ads and their email and then make a unique ad in my page with that info. Is that really ok?

I also am planning to drive traffic with facebook and competition. Any ideas?

I know there are some rules and especially swedish rules.

Facebook rule: You must not tell people to press like/share button
Swedish rule: You are not allowed to say that we will randomly select a winner. Swedish lottery law says it is forbidden to actually have a lottery. People need to perform a task so it is not lottery.

I am thinking like this. On facebook I have a page. I will tell people there will be a competition and you can win X. I will have 2 winnings. One with the most ads and one with most views on one ad.

This will make people spam ads and also want to drive traffic to their ads. How does this sound?

Yeah it is ok. Unless your actions will land you in jail. I suggest you try everything.

And BTW you are not selling a lottery here. Just try changing the email format.

I think You should do the following before it.

1. Buy A premium theme.
2. Invest in a "nice logo" and do pucca "on page optimization ".

After that you can invest in marketing.

Here I am again with another cool idea.

Here I will explain an idea that will help you to acquire many customers from your competitors.

This is the method I tried with my competitors and had a 50% success rate. (I was able to convert 50% of my competitors customers (Only those who I had tried not the entire) to my own customers).

1. Just go to your competitors site.
2. Choose your favorite category.
3. Open 10 ads  of unique users in a new tab. (shortcut: ctrl+ click)
4. There is a "contact box " just for you.
5. Type in an email like this.

"Hi, I just saw your ad. You wont be able to acquire all customers if you use just these classifieds. I use {yoursite}.com to post ads. I suggest you must try this.
Thanks."

I suggest you try this with all major cities of your country. especially the ones that are not yours.


Now thats how you make your competitors weep.

After I did this to olx . in.

They added a message below all their ads "I do not wish to be contacted by representatives of any other websites or telemarketers".

Thats all. I tried this with 250 people and 130 people were posting in my site the day after.

I'll post a tip thats just the opposite of above and lowers your burden. success rate is even higher but the conversion funnel brings only fewer customers in your radar.

I would not do this, it is more-less spam and they could ban you from their site, maybe if you would format anser little different

But I got great idea I used to use when running classifieds. There are companies they are placing huge amount of listings to many sites (usually Real Estate Agencies and Car-Resseling Companies). Contact them if they do not want to advertise on your web as well, you can offer them that you will be adding listings for them

Yeah. Thats exactly what I did. Target companies not an individual person.

Real estate agencies, web services, ad agencies.

only then the success rate is high.

You can also target casual users. If your friends can join in and share your burden.

I was not planning to to ads. I was planning to let all my friends + people on the facebook page do it for me. By telling people they must input alot of ads some people will do so. I also tell people that the ad with most views get a price so they will need to "spread the word" witch should make people press share button on their ad or of the facebook page

I will put up flyers in major cities around on adboards and send to friends around who live in big cities so they can put up posters.

Small steps so far but hopefully success

good luck pixellegolas. Now a days offline promotion seems easier than online promotions. Offline promotions cost less too.

The returns are great too.

Everyone is thinking wrong.

They are spending a huge amount on SEO.If a partial amount was spent on offline promotion. the same result would be gained.

Google seems to control the internet. This is pissing me off. I started using duckduckgo. Its better. Also they don't track you for monetizing your data.

well I personally use adblock and on mobile you dont see much ads at all so alot of customers dont see you. Posters is needed I think but must be selling
