I want to track what classified a specific user viewed and how long etc

I want to understand how my user navigating through my site - what classified he/she viewed and what button clicks etc all activities.
This is really helpful so I can suggest him ads related to his/her interest. Amazon is doing this. I searched and browsed 2 items and when I logged onto my yahoo account they show those 2 items on my email as classified by Amazon. Man! the exact remember what 2 items. That is called "Right data" in "Right time" to "Right Person" using the big data.  They know who I am, what I looked and what I need.

you need to understand cookies. I don't, but that is what you need. analytics can help a little, but they are not as intrusive as what you are suggesting amazon is. I don't go there either--thank goodness

I attended a data seminar where they showed how they capture users activity on a shopping cart, I think it was overstock. If the cart is abandoned because of high shipping cost - they offer a shipping discount to that customer later...

Is there anyone interested in developing a plugin for for monitoring user activity.

I was thinking may be if few of us take interest we can develop an advanced user tracking with logs.

I am in. Please count me. I also found a helpful application that you can add to your site and sits as live agent. So when a customer comes (logged in or not) you see that and takes the opportunity to start a conversation and so on. I thought that was quite helpful. Don't you?
