Osclass 3.3 RC – want to help us testing it?
« on: December 03, 2013, 08:11:07 pm »
As promised some time ago, we have Osclass 3.3 release candidate ready for download. IMPORTANT! As always, we don’t recommend you to run the installation on a production website to test it, once we make sure there are no bugs the new official version will be released in the following days.

Osclass 3.3 RC highlights:

  • Subdomains improved
  • Ajax upload of photos, with preview
  • Improved image handling, no more mess with background color
  • Passwords more secure (use of Bcrypt + individual salt isntead of SHA1)
  • Updated HTML Purifier to 4.5.0
  • Release notes added when upgrading from previous version
  • Minor bug fixes and improvements

Download Osclass 3.3 RC

Update, new version 3.3RC2 Download Osclass 3.3 RC2

Note about new password algorithm

We changed the password algorithm to make it more secure, we strongly suggest you reset your users’ passwords, so they will be forced to used the new, more secure, method. Old passwords (SHA1) will still work, new passwords (new users or users who changed their passwords) will be using the new method. You do not have to do anything, but it’s recommended you change your password.

Help us improving Osclass

Remember this is a pre-release version and while we work hard to make it bug-free, we could have missed some. Feel free to comment here if you find one, you could also contribute with code changes to our git repository.

Could you explain a little more ?

Did you make a clean install or an upgrade?
From which version?
Could you detail the steps to reproduce the issue?

absolutely pristine clean install with brand new new database, I was being the "end user". linux hosting, 5.3.24, godaddy. installed great!
I was not logged in, settings where as default, (which is anyone can post) so I tried posting. error email invalid.

if someone wants to test hack it (lightly) to check for password protections. I'll create some usernames, and test ads once I can publish..

I got the admin. I am using safari on a mac. I'll try the PC.
I will try refreshing after logout, I might not have been completely logged out.

maybe some sort of cache issue when you first install, because everything is working now, no setting changed.

anyway, back to testing :-)

well, except for the "clearing the cache" issue at the start. I have tested out of the box in mac, safari and chrome. PC iE and chrome. Im sure if those work all browers will. I will change some settings and work in firefox. try my hardest to catch some errors :-)

found one!
but Im not sure if the out of the box is supposed to search under these conditions??

anyway The search could not find "with image" & "'used' condition" selected at the same time in the sidebar of the "for sale" search page.

in admin>custom fields I created "condition" "used, new" - required and searchable with for sale as the category. which is a pretty common custom field

checked in pc and mac..etc

or at the front end?

in bender gridview. you need a <div class"clear"></div> between <ul class="listing-card-list listing-grid premium-list" id="listing-card-list"></ul> and <ul class="listing-card-list listing-grid" id="listing-card-list"></ul>
to bring the <h5>listings</h5> into it's spot above the listings.
checked in mac/pc and the usual places
