Osclass project is dead?
« on: October 23, 2016, 08:51:26 pm »
Hello. Has osclass project died? No bug fixes, no development of new features, nothing at all from 25 january https://blog.osclass.org/
Or it's considered that it is perfect like it is?

No, it's not dead. Latest commit is on 28th July.
We've been busy developing other aspects of Osclass (like the market)

Hello. To me it seems like is dead when i look at the official website - latest release or the github. I have noticed instead a increase in payed themes/plugins developed by you so that explains it (no more time for the actual script).
After so much time we still don't have a clear roadmap with progress for each function to see exactly in which direction the script is going.

Since money are made from charging the sales from market, we expected a accelerated improvement of the script which is clearly not the case and since you make plugins to cover some holes in the script, it looks like a conflict of interest (sorry to say this) because you may not wish to improve the script in certain areas. We are left at the mercy of other developers which may cover that area or not (payed or free). Some quick examples that comes in my mind are the ability to show all listings in one currency convert and sort them, or ability to pinpoint on the google map the exact location via a drag and drop pin to the proper location instead of region/city or show prices between the minimum and maximum values from existing listings. So many features proposed and in vain.

Anyway, it is your script and you do with it as you wish.

Osclass never had a roadmap, at least we have never been informed about it. I have posted that several times here asking for it and never had any reply.

It seems that Osclass team have more like a private agenda. This is not always bad, still it would be nice to know some details because this supposed to be an open source project. Not very "community" if you know what i mean.

What i think is that Osclass has shift their priorities to something else and not to the actual script. The recent changes at the forums and the market, clearly show that.

And you know what they say, if something doesn't evolve ... it is dying. I hope this is not the case.

So i am not the only one who has noticed this shift in priorities... I hope as well that this is just a transit phase to something greater because osclass has this chance.

I agree!!!

My Plugins uploaded in februar this year was not reviewed up to today. They all are free and i think the developer are more looking on paid plugins than on the free ones.

I wanted to help others with my work, but if it is not needed, i also can delete it and work for me alone

That's simply not true, we reviewed your plugins back in February, we didn't heard back from you. Please see the image:

_Conejo I have a suggestion to market, I'm sure is not proper place to I do it, but maybe you can read it and think if can be useful. When product is approved a mail alert the developer will be nice to alert him.
