What Google is trying to achieve (to stay search engine nr.1) is better matching search results trying to filter out sites that try to outsmart Google, try to con innocent internet users, sites that are 'lost souls' and no longer interesting etc...

So if you want YOUR site to stand out there are and Always will be the following specifics that will just help you do that:
- information on your webpages matching search words and the number of times this information is updated
- nr. of (unique) visitors to your webpage and amount of time staying on your site based on the search that was done before coming over to your site. The longer people stay the more relevant/interesting the information related to the search was.
- the nr. of users going to your site over a period of time related to certain searches (was it just a hype or still that interesting?)
- images used to express the information you are putting on the web
- nr. of external referrers pointing to your website who also are of the same interest 'field' (not just a link alone but is your website actually mentioned in the information?)
- country & language of origin, most likely people from India will ALWAYS get better search results on pages in their own language located/hosted in their own country

In the end Google has to use the information YOU offer so therefor will Always be dependant on this information and the information it finds related.
On the other hand Google is depending on the way users perform a search, amount of keywords they use.

Trying to 'lure' all internet visitors to your site will become a disappointment unless everybody is looking for online ads and YOUR site is the one most interesting Worldwide.....

The right marketing is something that will need more attention as well as trying to get as many refferals as possible from related sites. You want to have online market Multi-country? Consider setting up copies of your websites in domains hosted in the countries you are serving and avoid Multi-language on same page. Why? Because the more languages a site offer the bigger the question becomes HOW relevant is that information for people living in India?

Ie. a search on a car brand is done with a couple of added search terms like mileage and cheap. Just for the fun of it, see what Google returns for you and try to figure out WHY you got the search results the way they are presented.

Well, that and more common sense that makes it more likely people will be 'directed' to your site instead of your site 'luring' people in like it was possible for years thanks to the 'abuse' of meta keywords, page 'rankings', web 'clicks' etc.

I do think there are people who 'specialize' in SEO and therefor get hired and I also think they do manage to get the site higher in rankings. I just think I am capable of doing this myself as well or better. Not so much by making the used software 'more SEO aware' but mainly by thinking about 'interest' and the content I am offering making MY site more interesting for online ad searchers than yours ;)

Well, just sharing some thoughts....

Just my opinion, to implement posting ads step by step like http://ahmedabad.quikr.com/post-classifieds-ads/select-category/
From select category -> and option to make the ads as premiums
and if possible let user when posting ads give tags to the ads :)

If we could have it in core, it would be Opera Mini friendly. The javascript and ajax calls in Opera Mini are not working!

If you are interested in optimizing your site, the best way is to manage your SEO by creating custom pages. Edit those pages with meta data, make sure your site is properly 301'd. Make sure your site is properly canonical'd. Make sure to used proper <h>tag and <strong> placements within your custom verbiage on those pages. Make sure to add tags and region specific information in the ad headings and descriptions. Make sure to cut down on javascript querys, and minify white space in the code. Check your site @ GTMetrix often to ensure your site is optimized for speed. Then you'll do better in rankings.
